Overview: 

The Hibiscus Lipgloss Ring is a collectible beauty accessory designed for Gen Alpha and Gen Z consumers that merges wearable fashion with customizable beauty functionality. Inspired by playful early-2000s glamour, tropical summer aesthetics, and bold beauty trends, the ring transforms a basic lip product into an interactive experience that allows users to wear their confidence in a whole new way.

The Opportunity

Traditional beauty packaging often feels repetitive and overly mature for younger audiences looking to enter the beauty world. Gen Alpha consumers are looking for products that feel interactive, visually expressive and collectible. While many beauty brands focus heavily on their own brand identity, there is an opportunity to create experiences that feel more personal and resonate with consumers' lifestyles and identities. By blending beauty with fashion and self-expression, the product becomes more than makeup — it becomes part of the user’s style, personality, and everyday identity.

Creative Vision: 

The Hibiscus Lipgloss Ring reimagines beauty packaging as something wearable, customizable, collectible and even shareable. By combining a statement accessory with interchangeable lip product inserts, the concept transforms a traditional lip product into a multi-purpose, playful fashion accessory that encourages self-expression and embraces whimsy.
Plus, when your lip gloss is designed to be worn as an accessory, there’s no worrying about losing it at the bottom of your bag!

Creative Execution: 

Drawing inspiration from Zara Larsson’s trending “Lush Life” and “Midnight Sun” aesthetics, the product embraces hyper-feminine pop culture visuals through glossy toy-like finishes, rhinestone-inspired details, tropical florals, and collectible accessory styling. The concept was intentionally designed to feel both nostalgic and modern, capturing the playful energy currently shaping beauty, music, and social media culture.

Reimagining the Experience

Creative Direction

Using AI for rapid visualization and concept development tool to help translate early sketches and rough product ideas into more refined mock-ups and visual directions. Starting from hand-drawn concepts, AI allowed me to quickly explore form, materials, color palettes, packaging structures, and overall product aesthetics before moving into final refinement stages.

These AI-generated explorations acted as creative starting points that could then be further developed and polished within Adobe Creative Suite — refining layouts, typography, ingredient callouts, packaging systems, branding details, and marketing visuals into more cohesive and production-ready concepts.

​The interchangeable insert system is designed to encourage personalization, collectibility, and even sharing.

With interchangeable gloss inserts, bold tropical colors, and a glossy flower-shaped design, the concept brings together beauty, fashion, and pop culture into one fun, interactive experience built for self-expression and personalization.
